The marketing campaign examples worth studying for 2027 share one trait: they asked people to do something. Build an ad inside a food delivery app. Type a candy bar's batch code into a tracker. Point a phone at a soccer field during a live broadcast. We checked 16 campaigns launched between July 1, 2025 and October 20, 2026, confirmed every launch date against a named source, and labeled who measured each headline result.
That last step is what most "best campaigns" lists skip. When we traced the numbers back, 12 of the 16 headline results came from the brand, its agency, or its own award entry. Two came from an independent third party, and neither of those measures sales. That doesn't make the campaigns bad. It means you should know who is talking before you put their number in your next strategy deck.
Everything below was checked on October 20, 2026. No campaign dated 2027 appears here, because none exist yet. These are the campaigns 2027 plans are being written around.

How we picked these campaigns
Three rules, no exceptions.
A sourced launch date inside the window. Every campaign launched between July 1, 2025 and October 20, 2026, and the date comes from a named source: a brand newsroom, an agency case page, or trade press such as Marketing Dive, Adweek, LBB or Campaign Brief Asia. Award dates don't count. Where sources only give a month, we say so.
At least one result number you can trace. No number, no place on the list. That cut great work: Heineken's "Could Have Been a Heineken," the WhatsApp bot that swapped long voice notes for a free beer, won the Social & Creator Grand Prix at Cannes 2026, yet we couldn't find a result number from Heineken, its agency or a credible publication.
A label on every number. Each headline result carries one of five labels:
- Brand claim: the brand said it, or a publication attributes it to the brand.
- Agency claim: it comes from the agency's case study or statement.
- Award entry: it comes from an award submission or case film.
- Trade press: a publication reports it without saying who measured it.
- Independent: a third party with no stake in the campaign measured it.
Earned media value is always described as an estimate, never as a result. We also left out any brand listed in Arfadia's client directory; none of the 16 are.
16 recent innovative marketing campaigns, with proof
Grouped by what the audience had to do.
When the audience builds, plays or decodes
1. Uber Eats: Build Your Own Super Bowl Commercial
Launched: Feb 3, 2026 • US • Special US, Special Australia, PHD • Brand claim
Five days before Super Bowl LX, Uber Eats put an ad builder inside its own app. Fans mixed alternate scenes and celebrity cameos into their own version of the commercial, from more than 1,000 possible combinations, then unlocked deals. The ordering screen became the creative tool, so watching and buying happened in the same place.
According to Uber Eats, as reported by MediaPost, 325,000 users took part and the app logged 3.7 million incremental visits in Super Bowl week. Uber also said it beat its previous sales record by more than $36 million and cited $290 million-plus in earned media value, which is an estimate, not revenue. It won the Media Grand Prix at Cannes.
2. KFC: The Colonel Lived So We Could Chicken
Launched: Jul 11, 2025 • US • Highdive • Independent
KFC's US comeback began on July 11, 2025, when the Colonel's smile turned serious on signage, buckets and social profiles. The film "Obsession" premiered in theaters on July 14. Its long version hid 11 secrets, and the first 11 people to find them all won 11 months of free KFC.
System1, an ad-testing firm with no stake in the work, rated the film 4.7 stars against a 3.4-star average for quick-service restaurant ads. That's a creative test score, not sales. The Shorty entry adds an average viewing time of 8 minutes, a figure that comes from the entrant.
3. Meadow Fresh: Fantasy Herd
Launched: Feb 9, 2026 • New Zealand • McCann New Zealand • Award entry
Fantasy sports, but with cows. Meadow Fresh opened the draft for its fantasy dairy league on February 9, 2026. Players picked real cows from a 500-strong herd wearing Halter collars and scored points from milking and behavior data. Scanning a Meadow Fresh pack earned in-game currency, so the least glamorous asset a dairy brand owns, farm data, became the game.
McCann's Best Awards entry reports 11,618 herds created, more than 6,000 product scans, and a 6.2% year-on-year sales increase across the Meadow Fresh dairy portfolio. Herds aren't people, scans aren't purchases, and portfolio sales can't be credited to one game.
4. Duolingo x NIKI: Backburner
Launched: Mar 26, 2026 • Indonesia • agency not credited • Brand claim
From March 26 to 31, 2026, Duo, Duolingo's green owl, starred in a parody of Indonesian singer NIKI's song "Backburner." Fans used a TikTok filter asking whether they were "rowdy Duo or poetic Niki" and posted fan art tagging the brand.
Duolingo told Campaign Indonesia the campaign generated 58 million impressions across all platforms, nearly four times its 15 million target. The filter was used 17,717 times in the first five days, and fans made 75 pieces of artwork. The same report says app conversions weren't a KPI, so the 58 million measures exposure, not learning.
When the ad turns into a transaction or a tool
5. Mercado Livre: Field Barcode
Launched: Jul 5, 2025 • Brazil • GUT São Paulo • Brand claim
Mercado Livre has its name on São Paulo's Arena Pacaembu. For a Corinthians Legends vs Boca Juniors Legends match on July 5, 2025, it painted the pitch as a giant barcode that viewers could scan straight off the TV broadcast to unlock a coupon. A stadium name nobody looks at twice became a checkout button.
According to the brand, as reported by WERSM, more than 53,000 coupons were redeemed. Reports of the sales value disagree even on the currency (about US$1.7 million in one Brazilian outlet, over 1.5 million euros in WERSM), so we left it out. It won the Outdoor Grand Prix at Cannes.
6. BCP: SOS POS
Launched: Nov 2025 • Peru • Circus Grey Lima • Brand claim
When a phone gets stolen, the banking apps go with it. Since November 2025, Peru's BCP has let anyone go to one of more than 10,500 BCP Agent locations, enter their national ID number and PIN on the point-of-sale terminal, and block all their BCP cards on the spot. No app and no phone needed.
BCP says the service has handled more than 14,000 emergency blocks and protected more than S/74 million in customer balances; another report, also citing BCP, says more than 13,500. The Cannes announcement for its Creative Data Grand Prix adds that it "reached over 34 million Peruvians," a figure from the entry. The bank's most useful media turned out to be its card terminals.
7. TRA Mongkut Fertilizer: Soil Stay
Launched: Sep to Oct 2025 (expo debut) • Thailand, B2B • VML Bangkok • Trade press
B2B work rarely makes these lists. This one won the Creative B2B Grand Prix at Spikes Asia 2026. Thai fertilizer brand TRA Mongkut asked farmers to pay with a soil sample instead of money, then hosted them at a model farm with the same soil profile. It was shown at the Thailand Sustainability Expo (September 26 to October 5, 2025) and formally announced on January 7, 2026.
Press materials carried by Campaign Brief Asia, LBB and Marketech APAC say more than 10,000 farmers registered for the next phase, without saying who counted. ADFEST's write-up calls them 10,000 farmers "educated." Registered and educated are different claims.
8. Club Deportivo Municipal: The Thousand Sponsors of Muni
Launched: Jan 15, 2026 • Peru • McCann Lima • Trade press
Deportivo Municipal, a Lima soccer club facing a financial crisis, presented its idea on January 15, 2026: split the shirt into 1,000 tiny sponsor spaces and sell them to fans and local businesses for S/200 each. McCann Lima's campaign won the Entertainment Lions for Sport Grand Prix at Cannes.
Infobae reported in July 2026 that the club collected its 1,000 sponsors. At list price that's S/200,000 before costs, our arithmetic rather than a club figure. Of all 16, this is the one a small organization can copy most directly.
When the brand reacts to something real
9. KitKat: The KitKat Heist
Launched: Mar 27, 2026 • Global • VML UK, Burson London • Agency claim
On March 27, 2026, Nestlé disclosed that 12 tonnes of KitKat, 413,793 bars, had been stolen from a truck shipment in Europe. Instead of handling it quietly, KitKat went public and on April 1 launched a Stolen KitKat Tracker: type the eight-digit batch code on your bar and see whether it came from the stolen load.
Burson reports more than 2.2 million tracker engagements and more than 115 brands joining in. WPP Media puts earned media value at $224 million, an estimate rather than revenue. The often-quoted "zero media budget" line is m&k's own wording, not a Nestlé quote. It won the PR Grand Prix at Cannes.
10. Claude: Ads Are Coming to AI. But Not to Claude
Launched: Feb 4, 2026 • US • Mother London • Independent
Anthropic unveiled four spots for its Claude assistant on February 4, 2026, and aired them during Super Bowl LX four days later. With titles like "How Can I Communicate Better With My Mom?", they play out what it would feel like if an AI answer quietly turned into an ad, then close on "Ads are coming to AI. But not to Claude." Cannes gave it the Film Grand Prix, crediting the brand as Claude.
The numbers are independent. eMarketer, citing BNP Paribas data first reported by CNBC, says daily active users rose 11% and site visits 6.5% after the game. TechCrunch reported an Appfigures estimate of 148,000 US downloads from Sunday through Tuesday. That's US-only, short-term usage, not revenue.
11. Clash Royale: Copycats Welcome
Launched: Apr 2026 • Global • DAVID New York • Agency claim
Successful mobile games attract imitators. In April 2026, Supercell's Clash Royale invited the players of copycat games in: enter your progress from a knock-off on a microsite and get gold and Wild Cards in the real game. A competitor amnesty, in effect, and it won the Entertainment Lions for Gaming Grand Prix at Cannes.
DAVID told DesignRush that more than 2.3 million players exchanged their progress within five days. Contagious reported the same figure over three days, plus 1.65 million new accounts and 5.4 million lapsed players re-engaged. Same number, different window, so we quote the agency's version and say whose it is.
When the brand tells an uncomfortable truth
12. Dove: r/eal reviews
Launched: Feb 5, 2026 • US • DAVID London, AKQA Paris, WPP Media • Brand claim
Dove asked Redditors to review a hair mask, then ran the first 50 reviews exactly as written, critical ones included, across outdoor ads, films and a pop-up at New York's Flatiron Plaza on February 5 and 6, 2026. It's the opposite of astroturfing, which tends to end badly, as the five documented Reddit astroturfing cases we reviewed show.
Dove told MediaPost the campaign had 137 million impressions by February 9. By May, Unilever put it at more than 1 billion. Same metric, different dates. Neither tells you how many people saw it, because impressions count exposures, not humans.
13. The Ordinary: The Periodic Fable
Launched: Oct 14, 2025 • UK, US, Canada • Uncommon Creative Studio • Brand claim
The Ordinary launched The Periodic Fable globally on October 14, 2025: a periodic table where each "element" is one of 49 beauty-industry buzzwords. Click one on the landing page to learn why the claim misleads. It won the Health & Wellness Grand Prix at Cannes plus a D&AD Black Pencil.
The Drum reported in July 2026 that the campaign reached 85 million people and, according to the brand's research, lifted purchase intent 10% among US consumers. Creative Boom puts the lift at 10.4% among American women. Different audience, small gap. We use the brand's version and label it.
When the brand borrows something people already know
14. Heinz: Look Familiar?
Launched: Sep 9, 2025 • Global • Rethink Toronto • Brand claim
On September 9, 2025, Heinz launched a global campaign built on a visual coincidence: fast food fry boxes share the outline of the Heinz keystone label. The print ads showed the shapes side by side with almost nothing else, and an Uber Eats offer on Heinz ketchup gave people a reason to act. It took the Print & Publishing Grand Prix at Cannes.
According to Reason Why, brand and agency report 1.6 billion impressions and a 222% rise in US in-platform sales. Our reading: "in-platform" most likely means sales through the delivery platform where the offer ran, so treat it as a promotion result, not total ketchup sales.
15. Philippine Airlines: Safetynovela
Launched: Dec 23, 2025 • Philippines • BBDO Guerrero • Award entry
Most passengers tune out the safety briefing. Philippine Airlines and BBDO Guerrero recast it as a telenovela, introduced it at the Metro Manila Film Festival (covered by trade press on December 23, 2025) and debuted it on board on December 29. Same instructions, borrowed drama.
A shortlisted 2026 Clio Awards entry for the campaign reports more than 32 million views, 495 million total reach across more than 100 countries, and a 17% increase in online bookings. BBDO Guerrero adds a 93% safety recall rate against a 49% industry benchmark. The bookings figure is the one we'd most like to see the method for.
When the brand puts something real on the line
16. Columbia Sportswear: Expedition Impossible
Launched: Dec 2, 2025 • US • adam&eve\TBWA London • Agency claim
On December 2, 2025, Columbia's chief executive signed a long-copy ad in The New York Times challenging flat-earthers to find the edge of the world. The prize was "the Company." Early coverage read that as the whole business; MediaPost reported it was an entity called the Company, LLC, valued at $100,000.
TBWA reports 10.4 million views, 80 million in reach and 261 pieces of coverage, plus $2.4 million in earned media value (an estimate). Columbia told The Drum the posts drew roughly 10,000 comments and 15,000 shares. Nobody won; qualified entrants got $100 off. It took the Brand Experience & Activation Grand Prix at Cannes.
Three more that passed our checks
These cleared the date and number rules but didn't make the 16:
| Campaign | Launched | Headline result | Who measured it | Why it's not in the 16 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gap, Better in Denim with KATSEYE | Aug 19, 2025 | More than 8 billion impressions and 500 million views | Brand claim (Gap's CEO on an earnings call) | Strong film, familiar mechanic |
| CeraVe Nigeria, CerAwards 2026: The CeramoVE Edition | Feb 13, 2026 | 800+ creator entries, 68,000+ votes | Agency claim | A brand-sponsored article says "over 700" entries |
| American Eagle, Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans | Jul 23, 2025 | 790,000 new customers | Brand claim (CMO interview) | Celebrity endorsement; two different customer numbers |
Best marketing campaigns by mechanic: what the 16 have in common
Sort the list by what the audience had to do and the pattern is hard to miss. Half of the 16 were built around an action: building, playing, decoding, scanning, buying or blocking something. Three reacted to a real event or rival, two told an uncomfortable truth, two borrowed a shape people already knew, and one put a real stake on the table.
What the Audience Had to Do
Each campaign counted once, by its core mechanic. Our classification, not an industry taxonomy.
Build, play or decode
Uber Eats, KFC, Meadow Fresh Fantasy Herd, Duolingo x NIKI
The ad becomes a transaction or a tool
Mercado Livre, BCP, TRA Mongkut Soil Stay, Deportivo Municipal
React to a real event or rival
KitKat, Claude, Clash Royale
Tell an uncomfortable truth
Dove, The Ordinary
Borrow a shape or format people know
Heinz, Philippine Airlines
Put a real stake on the table
Columbia Sportswear
Half the list was built around an audience action
The brief that produced these wasn't "make something people share." It was closer to "what can people do with this?"

The awards show the same shift. Of the 14 Cannes Lions 2026 Grand Prix winners we could date inside our window, 8 only worked if the audience did something, from scanning a pitch to forwarding a voice note.
Film didn't disappear. Claude's Super Bowl spots, Coinbase's Oscars ad "Your Way Out" and Novartis's "Relax Your Tight End" all won Grands Prix. But only Claude came with a usage number we could trace. The takeaway for 2027 planning: if you want proof later, design the action now.
Are these results real? Who measured each number
Here's the uncomfortable part, and it applies to every campaign list, ours included.
12 of 16 Headline Numbers Came From the Brand Side
One headline result per campaign, labeled by who produced it. Brand, agency and award entry together make up 75%.
Brand claim
Uber Eats, Dove, Heinz, The Ordinary, Mercado Livre, BCP, Duolingo x NIKI
Agency claim
KitKat (Burson), Columbia (TBWA), Clash Royale (DAVID)
Award entry
Meadow Fresh Fantasy Herd, Philippine Airlines
Trade press
TRA Mongkut Soil Stay, Deportivo Municipal
Independent
Claude (BNP Paribas usage data), KFC (System1 creative test)
Independent sales results
Neither independent number measures sales. One is app usage, the other a creative test score.
How to use this
Self-reported doesn't mean false. It means the number should travel with its label and date.
Sources: Arfadia analysis of the 16 headline results in this article, each traced to its original publisher • checked October 20, 2026

That's normal; it's how the industry reports its own work. But it should change how you use the numbers, in four ways.
Impressions, views and reach are different metrics. Impressions count displays, repeats included. Views count plays, by each platform's own rule. Reach counts unique people. Gap's chief executive told investors Better in Denim delivered more than 8 billion impressions and 500 million views. Neither tells you how many different people saw it.
Earned media value is an estimate. It's a modeled guess at what the coverage would have cost as paid advertising. KitKat's $224 million and Uber Eats' $290 million-plus are both estimates from the brand side. Not revenue.
Sales during a campaign aren't sales caused by it. Comparable sales for the Gap brand rose 7% in the third quarter of fiscal 2025, the quarter Better in Denim ran. The earnings release doesn't mention the campaign. Overlap is not attribution.
The same brand can give two numbers. American Eagle's CMO told Marketing Brew that "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans" brought in 790,000 new customers. On the earnings call, the company's president said customer counts were up "more than 700,000." Both are brand claims. They are not the same claim.
When numbers disagree, we keep both versions rather than picking the bigger one:
| Campaign | Version A | Version B | What explains the gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dove, r/eal reviews | 137 million impressions (Dove, February 2026) | More than 1 billion impressions (Unilever, May 2026) | Same metric, three months apart |
| Clash Royale, Copycats Welcome | 2.3 million players in five days (DAVID) | 2.3 million players in three days (Contagious) | Different time windows for the same count |
| Mercado Livre, Field Barcode | About US$1.7 million in sales | Over 1.5 million euros in sales | Currency conflict, so we left sales out |
| BCP, SOS POS | More than 14,000 emergency blocks (BCP via Corresponsables) | More than 13,500 blocks (BCP via Diario Financiero) | Possibly different reporting dates; we show both |
| Columbia, Expedition Impossible | 10.4 million views, 80 million reach (TBWA) | More than 1 billion earned media impressions (Brand Innovators) | Different metrics from different sources; we use the agency's |
| The Ordinary, The Periodic Fable | Purchase intent up 10% among US consumers (The Drum) | Up 10.4% among American women (Creative Boom) | Two different audiences |
| CeraVe Nigeria, CerAwards 2026 | 800+ creator entries (Redrick PR) | Over 700 entries (brand-sponsored article) | Unclear, possibly different cut-off dates |
| American Eagle, Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans | 790,000 new customers (CMO interview) | Customer counts up more than 700,000 (earnings call) | Media interview vs investor call |
None of this is an accusation. It's housekeeping. Being repeated everywhere isn't being proven, a point we made about AI answers in visibility is not credibility. Campaign numbers work the same way.
Ad campaign examples from Asia and Indonesia
Western lists mostly skip Asia-Pacific. Four of our 16 come from there: Duolingo x NIKI in Indonesia, Soil Stay in Thailand, Fantasy Herd in New Zealand and Philippine Airlines' Safetynovela. A few more Indonesian examples, with caveats:
Duolingo x Tokopedia, late October 2025. It grew out of Indonesian meme culture around two green mascots, Duolingo's owl and Tokopedia's. The mascots swapped TikTok accounts and bios for a day, appeared on side-by-side billboards in Jakarta, and the stunt peaked with a K-pop dance battle near Gelora Bung Karno on November 2. Agency Innocean Indonesia reports 2.2 million engagements and coverage from more than 130 media outlets in seven days. The launch is only dated to the month, so it sits here rather than in the 16.
McDonald's Indonesia, "Sepenuhnya Indonesia," January 27, 2026. For McDonald's 35th year in Indonesia, Leo Indonesia made "The Boat," a film about one boat carrying Indonesians through time. Marketing-Interactive reported in May 2026 that the first episode had passed 52 million views. Lovely work, but there's no participation mechanic.
Wardah, "Hear in Hijab." A brooch-style hearing aid worn outside the hijab, launched with agency Dentsu Creative Indonesia. It won a Bronze Lion at Cannes 2026 and a Grand Prix of Medium at Citra Pariwara in December 2025. We found no published result number.
Haraku Ramen, "One Noodle." This Indonesian noodle brand, part of the Ismaya Group, won the Spikes Asia 2026 Gaming Grand Prix with a 3.5-meter noodle for gamers who hate pausing. It launched on April 3, 2025, so it belongs in the older-campaigns table below.
Spikes Asia also named TU7UH Creative Lab, Jakarta, its 2026 Indonesia Agency of the Year. Citra Pariwara 2026 winners haven't been announced yet; the calendar in the official guidebook puts the awards night on December 11, 2026. If you market into Indonesia from abroad, the checking between a social post and checkout matters as much as the ad; we mapped it in the Indonesian consumer decision journey.
Most successful marketing campaigns of 2026, according to award juries
Most "most successful marketing campaigns" lists are built from awards, so it's worth knowing what each jury judges. Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia and D&AD primarily reward creativity and craft (Cannes does run a Creative Effectiveness category). The Effie Awards are the effectiveness show: Effie says its winners "delivered measurable business results." Even there, the case and its data are submitted by the entrant. An award is a jury's verdict. It isn't an audit.
| Award (2026) | Top honor | When that work launched | What the jury judges |
|---|---|---|---|
| Effie Awards United States | Grand Effie: Uber Eats, "Football is for Food" (Special US) | September 26, 2024 | Effectiveness, based on results the entrant presents |
| Cannes Lions | Titanium Grand Prix: Suncorp Insurance, "Haven" (Leo Australia) | May 21, 2025 | Creativity, plus a Creative Effectiveness Lion |
| Spikes Asia | Most Grands Prix: Vaseline Verified, 4 (Ogilvy Singapore) | Global launch April 7, 2025 | Creativity in Asia-Pacific |
| D&AD | 4 Black Pencils to 3 works: Coinbase "Your Way Out" (2), AXA "Three Words", The Ordinary "The Periodic Fable" | March 2026, March 2025, October 2025 | Creative and craft excellence |
| Citra Pariwara (Indonesia) | Not yet announced | Awards night scheduled December 11, 2026 | Indonesian advertising creativity |
Look at the launch dates. The most effective US campaign of 2026, by the Effie jury's verdict, launched in September 2024. That isn't a flaw: effectiveness takes time to prove, so effectiveness awards reward older work. It does mean "2026's most successful campaign" and "a campaign from 2026" are rarely the same thing.
We went further and dated the winners ourselves.

A few more figures from the official sources:
- Cannes Lions 2026 received 20,050 award submissions from 92 countries. Brands themselves submitted 10% of all work, up from 8% in 2025. By our count from the five official winner announcements, 34 Grand Prix awards were handed out.
- Spikes Asia 2026 reported that brands submitting work rose 18% year on year, entries for Creative Effectiveness rose 34%, and brands themselves sent 46% of entries in the new Creative B2B category.
- Effie US 2026 handed out 28 Gold awards to 24 cases. Mischief @ No Fixed Address led at least four of them, and Effie ranked it the top agency office. Uber Eats was the top brand and Kraft Heinz the top marketer. Global Best of the Best results for 2026 weren't on effie.org when we checked.
Older campaigns that "recent" lists keep recycling
One page ranking for this keyword in October 2026 lists campaigns from the second half of 2024, and 2026 trophies often go to older work. These are the campaigns most likely to appear in a "2026" list despite launching earlier.

None of these are bad campaigns. AXA's "Three Words" might be the best idea on this whole page. They just aren't recent, and if your deck calls them 2026 work, somebody in the room will know.
What a small business can copy, and what it can't
Most of these campaigns had budgets you don't. The mechanics are a different story.
Break one expensive thing into many cheap ones. Deportivo Municipal sold a thousand small sponsor spaces instead of one big one. A cafe can do it with a mural wall, a gym with a members' wall, a school with a fundraising run.
Give something you already own a second job. Mercado Livre turned a stadium name into a coupon, and BCP turned its card terminals into an emergency service. Look at your delivery bags, receipts, shop window or packaging, and ask what a customer could do with them besides look.
Hide something worth finding. KFC's 11 clues kept people watching for an average of 8 minutes, by the entrant's count. A local brand can hide a code in a story series or a printed menu. Small prize, clear rules, published winners.
Publish what customers actually said. Dove ran unedited Reddit reviews, critical ones included. Any business with real reviews can do this, with permission to quote them and the critical ones kept in. That's what makes it believable. If customer voices are part of the plan, set the permission and disclosure rules first; they're the backbone of any serious user-generated content program.
Trade expertise for data. Soil Stay is the B2B version: a soil sample in exchange for a tailored farm visit. A software firm could swap a free audit for anonymized benchmarks.
What doesn't transfer: Super Bowl airtime, a roster of celebrity cameos, your own app to build an ad inside, a real theft that makes international news. If the plan depends on any of those, it's a different plan.
Measure it honestly, even at small scale. Pick one action metric before launch, keep exposure, participation and sales in separate columns, and write down where each number came from. A small, clearly sourced result travels further than a big vague one, the same logic we followed with low-budget research that AI can cite.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are some recent examples of innovative marketing campaigns?
Recent examples include Uber Eats' Build Your Own Super Bowl Commercial (February 3, 2026), the KitKat Heist batch-code tracker (April 1, 2026), Mercado Livre's scannable soccer field in Brazil (July 5, 2025), BCP's SOS POS in Peru (November 2025) and Meadow Fresh's Fantasy Herd in New Zealand (February 9, 2026). Each one asked people to build, check, scan or play, not just watch.
What was the most successful marketing campaign of 2026?
It depends on who is judging. The 2026 US Grand Effie, the top US effectiveness award, went to Uber Eats' "Football is for Food," which launched in September 2024. Cannes Lions gave its Titanium Grand Prix to Suncorp's "Haven," launched in May 2025. For campaigns launched after July 1, 2025, we found no independently audited sales result.
Are award-winning campaigns actually effective?
Not necessarily. Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia and D&AD mainly reward creativity and craft. The Effie Awards judge effectiveness: Effie says its winners delivered measurable business results. Even then, each case and its data come from the entrant, so an award is a jury's verdict, not an independent audit.
Can you trust the results brands publish about their campaigns?
Treat them as claims and note who made them and when. Of the 16 headline results in this article, 7 are brand claims, 3 agency claims, 2 award entries, 2 unattributed trade press reports and 2 independent figures, and neither independent figure measures sales. Numbers also grow: Dove reported 137 million impressions in February 2026, and Unilever put it at more than 1 billion by May.
What is earned media value?
Earned media value estimates what a campaign's unpaid coverage would have cost as paid advertising. Brands and agencies calculate it with their own assumptions, so it is neither revenue nor independently audited. The KitKat Heist's $224 million and Uber Eats' $290 million-plus are both estimates, not results.
What is the difference between impressions, views and reach?
Impressions count how many times content was displayed, repeats included. Views count plays under each platform's own definition. Reach counts unique people. They can't be added together or swapped: Gap's 8 billion impressions and 500 million views for Better in Denim don't tell you how many different people saw it.
Can a small business copy these campaigns?
It can copy the mechanic, not the media budget. Club Deportivo Municipal in Peru sold 1,000 small sponsor spaces on its shirt at S/200 each. A local business can apply that structure to a wall, a menu or a product run. Super Bowl airtime, celebrity casts and real news events don't transfer.
What are good recent ad campaign examples from Indonesia?
Duolingo x NIKI's "Backburner" (March 26 to 31, 2026) reported 58 million impressions against a 15 million target, according to Duolingo. The Duolingo x Tokopedia mascot swap (late October 2025) reported 2.2 million engagements in seven days, according to Innocean Indonesia. McDonald's Indonesia launched "Sepenuhnya Indonesia" on January 27, 2026. The Citra Pariwara 2026 awards night is scheduled for December 11, 2026.
Is a 2026 award winner a 2026 campaign?
Often not. Of the 26 Grand Prix awards at Spikes Asia 2026, 12 went to work launched before July 2025, including the four won by Vaseline Verified, which launched globally on April 7, 2025. AXA's "Three Words" won the Cannes 2026 Creative Effectiveness Grand Prix but launched on March 30, 2025. Check the launch date, not the trophy year.
