About SEO in the Philippines

A Google-concentrated, mobile-first, English-publishing market with deep local supply. The honest entry point here is method, not price and not language.

One Search Engine, One Publishing Language, and a Phone in Every Hand

Google held 89.92% of Philippine search as of July 2026, with Bing at 6.51%, Yahoo at 2.85% and DuckDuckGo at 0.28%, according to StatCounter Global Stats. Optimising for Google is effectively optimising for the market. The mobile requirement is not a preference either: DataReportal's Digital 2026 report recorded 98.0 million internet users in October 2025, equal to 83.8% of the population, alongside 137 million active cellular connections, a figure equal to 117% of the population because one person commonly carries more than one subscription. English proficiency is high and formally measured, with the EF English Proficiency Index 2024 placing the Philippines 22nd of 116 countries on a score of 570, second in Asia behind Singapore. Corporate, professional and B2B publishing runs in English, so the translation cost that dominates most non-English markets barely applies.

Where the Honest Limits Sit

Several things a vendor might quote you here simply are not known. No credible source isolates the size of the Philippine SEO services sector from digital advertising spend or from the IT-BPM industry it sits beside. No published study measures how Philippine commercial queries divide between English, Filipino and code-switched Taglish, so any percentage offered for that is an estimate wearing a decimal point. No Philippines-specific measurement of AI Overview prevalence or its click-through effect exists at all. We also state our own limit plainly: we deliver in English and adapt terminology and geography to the Philippines, and we do not claim native Filipino or Taglish consumer copywriting, because that needs Filipino native speakers and the difference shows in the work.

Screenshots Are the Current Evidence Standard Here. We Report Differently.

Across the Philippine market, before-and-after screenshots of a ranking or an AI answer are the most common proof offered to a buyer. In the eight independent AI research reports commissioned for this page, no Philippine or regional provider was found publishing a measurement method a client could re-run for themselves. That gap is what a foreign agency can actually close.

Screenshot-based reporting
A position captured onceOne device, one location, one moment, and no record of the exact query behind it.
No frozen baselineWithout a query list locked before work starts, before and after are not comparable.
Rank presented as citationA top-ten position is offered as proof that AI systems name the brand. Those are two different observations.
Every figure looks equally solidVerified, reported and estimated numbers sit in the same table with no marker separating them.
How we report instead
Frozen query registry with a change logLocked before the first deliverable, versioned afterwards, so the comparison holds.
Definition attached to every numberWhat was measured, geography, named source and date, on each figure we hand over.
Rank, traffic and citation kept apartNever folded into a single visibility score that hides which one actually moved.
Data ownership stays with youGA4 and Search Console access remains yours, so any figure we report can be checked against your own property.
How this engagement reports What screenshot evidence leaves out

This describes a reporting standard, not a promised outcome. Whether that standard produces better results than a local alternative is a claim we would rather prove on your query panel than assert on a landing page.

Google Holds 89.92% of Philippine Search, and One Dataset Puts AI Overviews on 29.1% of It

Search concentration here is easy to state precisely. AI answer prevalence is not. One named dataset gives a Philippine figure, other research treats it as unavailable, and the two facts belong side by side rather than resolved into whichever is more convenient.

Click-Through for Philippine Brands at Positions 8.6 and 9.1

LeapOut Digital tracked GA4 and Search Console for 11 brands, 7 of them Philippine, from January 2023 to June 2026. Brands sitting at average positions 8.6 and 9.1 recorded click-through of 1.9% and 2.3%, against a 6% to 9% pre-AI benchmark for those positions. Roughly 59 million impressions produced fewer than 1.3 million visits. The authors state plainly that this cannot be attributed to AI alone, and we repeat that caveat rather than dropping it.

29.1%

Philippine Keywords Triggering an AI Overview, From One Dataset

Ahrefs analysed 108 million AI Overview queries in its Brand Radar database and put the Philippines at 29.1%, level with Mexico, behind Indonesia at 37.2% and ahead of India at 26.8% and the United States at 20.5%. Single source, method-dependent, and other research passes for this page treated Philippine prevalence as unavailable altogether. Treat it as one dataset rather than a settled rate, and measure your own panel against it.

Ads inside AI Overviews went live in the Philippines on 19 December 2025, in English on both mobile and desktop. Google currently excludes sensitive verticals including finance, healthcare, gambling, alcohol, adult content and politics, so for those categories a place inside an AI answer cannot be bought at all.

Our SEO Services in the Philippines

Technical, content, authority and compliance work built for a Google-concentrated, mobile-saturated, English-publishing market.

Technical SEO & Core Web Vitals

Crawlability, site architecture, structured data and Core Web Vitals, scoped for a market with 137 million active cellular connections against a population of roughly 117 million.

Mobile rendering is the starting condition here, not a later optimisation pass.

Local SEO for Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao

Google Business Profile management, service-area logic and location pages sequenced by validated demand rather than launched all at once.

Metro Manila density is extreme, with Mandaluyong recording over 71,000 people per square kilometre in the 2020 PSA census, so proximity is table stakes and relevance and prominence decide the local pack.

English Content & On-Page SEO

English-first commercial and B2B content built on E-E-A-T signals, structured for a human reader and for machine extraction alike, with question-led headings and direct-answer openings.

Where Taglish shows up in queries you can actually evidence in Search Console, we handle it, and we bring in Filipino native reviewers for consumer copy rather than claiming that capability in-house.

Off-Page SEO & Digital PR

Link acquisition and digital PR in Philippine English-language business and trade publications a Filipino buyer recognises, rather than generic global placements with "Philippines" inserted into the headline.

The most manual workstream on this list, and the one local incumbents compete hardest on.

Data Privacy Act-Ready Delivery

Republic Act No. 10173 reaches processors outside the Philippines, and accountability stays with you as controller. We provide a written processing agreement and incident-reporting terms tight enough for your own 72-hour obligation under NPC Circular 16-03.

Default scope avoids personal data wherever the work does not require it, which is the cleanest position for both sides. General information, not legal advice.

AI Visibility Layer (AEO/GEO Add-On)

Answer-first structuring and a frozen prompt panel folded in from the first sprint, because a page can rank first and still never be named inside a generated answer.

Delivered alongside our companion GEO service for the Philippines, not bolted on once rankings plateau.

Why Choose Us as Your SEO Company for the Philippines?

Auditable Measurement and Published Research

The Philippines holds one of the deepest pools of English-fluent digital marketing capability anywhere, built on an IT-BPM sector that closed 2025 above USD 40 billion in export revenue with 1.9 million workers, roughly 8% of national GDP. Local capability is real and this page does not pretend otherwise. What we bring is measurement you can reproduce and research we have published under our own name.

Published Research, Not Only Case Studies

Three research reports with published DOIs and indexing on Google Scholar, plus two books on AI search visibility. The verifiable gap in this market is method, and we work on that gap in public where anyone can check it.

Ranking and Citation Never Blended

A page can hold position one and never be named in an AI answer. We never present a rank as evidence of citation, and every figure we hand over carries what was measured, the geography, the named source and the date.

Data Privacy Act Written Into Delivery

RA 10173 applies extraterritorially and accountability stays with you. We supply the processing agreement, support the 72-hour notification path under Circular 16-03, and default to a scope that touches no personal data at all.

The Same Working Day as Manila

Our Bali office runs on WITA at UTC+8, identical to Philippine Standard Time, with Jakarta and Bandung one hour behind. Live calls and same-day turnaround rather than overnight handoffs.

Frequently Asked Questions About SEO in the Philippines

Why hire an Indonesia-based agency when Philippine agencies already do this work?

Because of measurement, not language and not rate. The Philippines has deep, English-fluent local capability, and local agencies already sell SEO, AEO and GEO under those exact names, so any pitch built on "they only do traditional SEO" would be false. What the market does not yet have is published, reproducible measurement method. Across eight independent AI research reports commissioned for this page, no Philippine or regional provider was found publishing a method a client could re-run. If your requirement is standard on-page and content execution, a local agency is a sound choice and we will tell you so. Cross a border when you need evidence you can audit yourself.

Do you write in Filipino or Taglish?

No, and we will not claim otherwise. We deliver in English, which is the dominant language of Philippine corporate and B2B publishing, and we adapt terminology and geography to the Philippine market. Where consumer copy genuinely needs Filipino or Taglish, we bring in Filipino native writers and reviewers. Academic benchmarking supports that caution: FilBench, published at EMNLP 2025, found the strongest model scored 72.23% aggregate on Filipino tasks with a text-generation subscore of just 46.48%, and a separate 2025 study of retrieval-augmented models found performance highest in English, lower in Taglish and lowest in pure Tagalog. Machine-assisted Filipino content is not a substitute for a native writer.

What share of Philippine searches happen in English rather than Filipino or Taglish?

Nobody has published this. Code-switching between Tagalog and English is well documented in Philippine online-language research, including dedicated academic datasets, but no study measures the split at the level of commercial search queries. Any agency quoting you a percentage for it is estimating. The workable substitute is your own data: export Search Console queries by landing page, device and location, label them at token level for English, Filipino, regional language and mixed, then decide from evidence rather than assumption.

How much of Philippine search does Google actually hold?

89.92% as of July 2026, with Bing at 6.51%, Yahoo at 2.85% and DuckDuckGo at 0.28%, per StatCounter Global Stats. Optimising for Google is effectively optimising for the market. The mobile condition is not optional alongside it: DataReportal's Digital 2026 report recorded 137 million active cellular connections in the Philippines, equal to 117% of the population, against 98.0 million internet users at 83.8% penetration in October 2025.

Are AI Overviews live in the Philippines, and how much traffic will they cost us?

They are live, and Google lists English, Filipino and Cebuano among supported languages. On cost there is one Philippine dataset and a pile of global ones. LeapOut Digital tracked GA4 and Search Console for 11 brands, 7 of them Philippine, from January 2023 to June 2026, and found brands at average positions 8.6 and 9.1 recording click-through of 1.9% and 2.3% against a 6% to 9% pre-AI benchmark, with roughly 59 million impressions yielding fewer than 1.3 million visits. Its authors state this cannot be attributed to AI alone. Globally, Ahrefs found a 34.5% average click-through drop for the top-ranking page in April 2025 across 300,000 keywords, revised to roughly 58% in a February 2026 update. Rather than transposing any of these onto your account, we baseline a fixed query panel on your own property and measure the change there.

Is it legal to use an overseas SEO agency under the Data Privacy Act?

Yes. Republic Act No. 10173 does not prohibit cross-border processing, but it applies extraterritorially to processing concerning Philippine citizens and residents, and accountability stays with you as the personal information controller. You are required to use contractual or other reasonable means to secure a comparable level of protection. NPC Advisory No. 2024-01 of 30 May 2024 makes model contractual clauses available for exactly this purpose, and precision matters here because the point is widely misstated: the Commission describes the use of those clauses as voluntary and states that it will not review agreements for conformity with them. The obligation is accountability. The clauses are one accepted way of meeting it, not a legal requirement in themselves.

Will we need to register anything with the National Privacy Commission?

That depends on your own processing rather than on hiring us. Under NPC Circular No. 2022-04, which superseded Circular 17-01 in full, registration is required where any one of the following applies: you employ 250 or more persons, your processing includes sensitive personal information of 1,000 or more individuals, or the processing is likely to pose a risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects. Systems involving automated decision-making or profiling must be registered in every case. Where the work does not require personal data, we scope the engagement to avoid it entirely, which is the cleanest position for both sides. This is general information and not legal advice; confirm specifics with Philippine counsel.

What happens if there is a data breach?

Under NPC Circular 16-03 the Commission and the affected data subjects must be notified within 72 hours of knowledge or reasonable belief that a personal data breach has occurred, with a full report submitted inside five days unless the Commission grants more time. No delay is permitted where at least 100 data subjects are involved, or where disclosure of sensitive personal information would harm them. The same Circular requires you as controller to secure by contract that a processor reports to you on discovering a breach, so our agreements carry an internal notification deadline short enough for you to still meet your own 72 hours.

Can you guarantee rankings?

No, and no agency that controls neither Google's ranking systems nor your competitors should offer to. We commit to deliverables, a frozen measurement baseline agreed before work starts, implementation timelines, and reporting in which every figure carries its own definition and source. Where a claim cannot be substantiated, we say so in the body of the report rather than burying it in a footnote.

How does GEO fit if we only buy SEO?

They share a technical and content foundation but measure different outcomes. Ranking is a position in a list of links. Citation is whether a generative system names your source inside an answer, frequently with no click at all. A page can rank first and never be cited, and a page on the third page of results can be cited repeatedly. We structure SEO content to be extractable from the outset and can run our companion GEO service for the Philippines in parallel or later. One detail worth knowing: ads inside AI Overviews went live in the Philippines on 19 December 2025, but Google currently excludes sensitive verticals including finance and healthcare, so for those categories organic citation is the only route into an AI answer.
