B2B GEO Company

When a Buyer Asks AI for a Vendor, Are You on the List?

B2B buyers now draw their shortlist before they ever contact sales. If your company is absent from that answer, the opportunity is lost without ever appearing in your pipeline.

About GEO for B2B

Generative Engine Optimization is the discipline of structuring a company's entity, evidence and published record so that AI systems recognise it, describe it accurately, and cite it when answering questions in its category. Arfadia has practised it in Indonesia since 2023.

For B2B companies the stakes are different from consumer brands. A consumer asking AI for a restaurant makes a decision in minutes and the cost of being wrong is one meal. A procurement officer asking AI which vendors handle industrial SEO is opening a process that runs for months and ends in a contract. Being absent from that first answer removes you from a process you never knew had started.

This page covers the buying process rather than any single industry. If your category has its own page, the links further down go there, and those pages go deeper on the vertical detail.

What This Has Produced

Four numbers from case studies published on this site. Each links to the full study, so you can check them before reading anything else we say.

Every figure on this page is already published at arfadia.com. Nothing here is a number you have to take on trust.

Four Things That Make B2B Different

A B2B buying cycle runs months and involves several people. That changes what AI visibility has to do.

1

The shortlist forms before contact

By the time a B2B buyer reaches your website, the list of vendors has usually already been drawn. The question that matters is not whether your site converts, but whether you were named when the list was made. Conversion rate optimisation cannot fix an absence that happened three steps earlier.

2

Comparison questions decide it

B2B buyers ask AI to compare. What is the difference between vendor A and vendor B. Who is better for a regulated industry. Which one has worked with government clients. Being mentioned is not enough if the description attached to your name is wrong, thin, or out of date.

3

Several people ask, separately, in different languages

A technical lead, a procurement officer and a director will each ask differently. In Indonesia they frequently ask in different languages as well, one in English and one in Bahasa Indonesia. Visibility in one phrasing does not carry to the others, and the answers genuinely differ.

4

The category question beats the geography question

B2B buyers rarely ask for a vendor in a city. They ask for a vendor for a problem. Optimising for location while competitors optimise for the problem loses the queries that actually convert.

Three Things About Indonesian B2B That Are Not in the Global Playbooks

These come from our own measurement across six AI platforms, and they run against what most international GEO advice assumes.

Prompt language changes the shortlist, not just the wording

Ask the same B2B vendor question in English and in Bahasa Indonesia and you do not get a translated answer. You get a different list of companies. Sources indexed in one language rarely surface for the other. For Indonesian B2B this means a single-language content strategy is a half strategy, and most international guidance never mentions it because most markets do not have this split.

Directory citations carry more weight in B2B than in consumer categories

When AI answers a consumer question it leans on reviews and editorial. When it answers a B2B vendor question it leans heavily on agency and supplier directories, because those are the only structured comparisons that exist. A profile field left blank or filled in wrongly can remove a company from an entire category listing regardless of how good its own website is.

Thin category coverage is an advantage, not an obstacle

Many Indonesian B2B categories have almost no AI-readable content. Global advice treats low volume as a reason to deprioritise. In GEO the opposite applies: where nobody has claimed the questions, the entity that publishes first and publishes verifiably tends to hold the answer for a long time.

Six Disciplines for Getting Named, Not Just Ranked

What the work actually consists of.

Entity architecture

Making the company machine-readable as a single consistent entity: schema, structured data, consistent naming and address across every source an AI might read. Conflicting facts across sources make models hedge, and a model that hedges does not recommend.

Question panel design

Building the list of questions that matter to your buyers, in both languages, and freezing it in writing before work starts. Without a fixed panel any number can be made to look good afterwards by choosing favourable questions.

Evidence publishing

Turning delivery results into published, checkable records. AI systems cite sources that state specifics. A case study with before and after numbers is citable. A page that says "trusted by leading brands" is not.

Directory and third-party presence

Claiming, correcting and maintaining profiles on the directories that AI actually cites in your category, with the service breakdown fields filled correctly. This is unglamorous and it moves the number.

Answer-first content formatting

Structuring pages so the answer to a question appears in the first sixty words, with numbered lists and tables that can be extracted cleanly. Essay-style prose is read by humans and skipped by retrieval.

Measurement across six platforms separately

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Copilot behave differently. Averaging them into one score hides the weakest one, which is usually the one that needs work.

Our GEO Services for B2B Companies

Baseline measurement

Before anything is built, we measure where you currently stand across six platforms against your agreed question panel. Without this number no claim about improvement afterwards can be verified, by you or by anyone else.

Entity and schema build

Organization, Service and Offer schema, consistent NAP across every source, and correction of conflicting records wherever they appear. This is the part that most affects Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Bilingual question panel

75 questions at Foundation level, 100 at Growth, built in Bahasa Indonesia and English, agreed in writing and not changed mid programme without your approval.

Evidence and case study production

Turning your delivered work into published records with checkable numbers, in the format AI systems cite rather than the format that reads well in a deck.

Directory correction and maintenance

Audit, claim and correct your presence on the directories cited in your category, including the service breakdown fields that determine which listings you appear in.

Monthly reporting with the misses included

Citation frequency, reference depth as share of voice, and revenue attribution, reported per platform. Targets that were missed are in the report, not left out of it.

Why Choose Arfadia as Your B2B GEO Agency

We measure citation share, not just rank

The RoGEO framework tracks how often you are named and how deeply you are referenced, per platform, against a panel fixed before work begins. The method is published, not proprietary mystery.

We treat language as a retrieval variable

Question panels are built in Bahasa Indonesia and English from the start, because in Indonesian B2B the two produce different shortlists.

We publish our own prices and our own evidence

Three tiers with rupiah figures, eleven case studies, three research reports with registered DOIs, and a client directory naming 134 companies. You can check all of it before talking to us.

Institutional grade governance

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, LKPP registered for Indonesian government procurement, operating since 2008 with 120 or more specialists across nine divisions.

What We Do Not Sell

Stated here because in this category it is the more useful information.

  • Guaranteed citation in ChatGPT, or in any other model. Nobody can guarantee that, and an agency that prices it is selling certainty that does not exist.
  • Guaranteed lead volume or guaranteed revenue.
  • Pricing by article count or backlink volume. Both are activity measures, and both can be inflated without moving a single AI citation.
  • Placement in AI answers through payment. No platform sells it, and anyone offering it is describing advertising, not GEO.

If Your Category Has Its Own Page

This page covers the B2B buying process. These pages go deeper on the vertical detail.

Prices Are Published

Foundation from IDR 15,000,000 a month with a six month minimum. Growth from IDR 35,000,000 a month with a twelve month minimum. Enterprise on request. Published rather than quoted after three meetings, so you can rule us out in ten seconds if the range does not fit.

Frequently Asked Questions About GEO for B2B

How is GEO different from SEO for a B2B company?

SEO competes for a position on a results page where ten links appear and the buyer chooses. GEO competes for inclusion in an answer where only three to five sources are usually cited and the model chooses. For B2B the difference matters more than for consumer brands, because a buyer asking AI for a vendor shortlist is much closer to a purchase decision than someone browsing search results.

How long before a B2B company sees results?

The entity foundation usually takes six to eight weeks before AI systems describe the company accurately. Citation gains on competitive category questions typically appear from month three onward. Anyone promising results in the first month is describing a brand-name query, which is the easiest case and rarely the one that generates leads.

Can you guarantee our company will be cited?

No, and neither can anyone else. Model outputs are not deterministic and the platforms do not sell placement. What can be committed to is a measured baseline, a frozen question panel, monthly reporting across six platforms, and a closing audit that includes the targets that were missed.

What if our category has almost no search volume?

That is often a good sign for GEO rather than a bad one. Low volume B2B categories frequently have thin AI answers, which means fewer competitors have claimed the questions. The measurement still works because it counts citations against a question panel, not traffic.

Do you work in Bahasa Indonesia and English?

Yes, and for B2B it is usually necessary rather than optional. A technical lead may ask in English while a procurement officer asks in Bahasa Indonesia, and the two produce genuinely different shortlists. Question panels are built in both languages from the start.

Our buyers never click through from AI answers. How is this measured?

Citation and traffic are separate measurements and both are reported. A company can be cited hundreds of times with very few clicks, particularly in B2B where the buyer reads the answer and then searches the company name directly. That is why the report covers citation frequency and share of voice, not only referral sessions.

We already rank well on Google. Do we need this?

Ranking well helps but does not transfer automatically. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on the index but select differently, and ChatGPT and Perplexity do not use Google ranking at all. In our own measurement, Google AI surfaces are frequently the weakest for companies that rank well organically.

How do you handle a category where a competitor publishes AI content at scale?

Volume alone does not win retrieval. Models favour sources that are specific, consistent and externally corroborated. The response is not to match volume but to publish checkable evidence the competitor cannot produce, and to make sure third-party sources describe you accurately.

Our procurement team needs to verify claims independently. What can we give them?

Everything on this page is published and checkable without contacting us: the case studies with their numbers, the price list, the client directory, the measurement methodology, and three research reports with registered DOIs. We also publish a buyer guide that can be used to evaluate any agency, including cheaper ones.

What happens if the AI platforms change how retrieval works?

Some of it will need redoing, and we say so in advance rather than after. The parts that survive platform change are the durable ones: accurate entity data, published evidence, and correct third-party records. The parts most exposed are formatting tactics, which is why we do not build a programme on them.
